The purpose of the cross-media project 'Our Art' was to inspire and engage people in the art that surrounds them –
art in public places. DR and the Danish Art Council asked the question: Where would you like a piece of public art
worth 200,000 EUR?

On DR´s website people could suggest their place on an interactive map, upload pictures and explain why they though
their place should win. It was possible to ‘like’ and comment on both the suggestions and art in general.

More than one thousand suggestions were submitted. Out of hundreds of users advocating locations across Denmark,
only three were chosen as winners.

The project culminated with the winners choosing their artist and model that would then become a full-fledged piece
of public art. The event was broadcast live on Denmark's main channel, DR1, as well as on the largest national
radio channel, P4, which had followed the project from the start when it launched on our website.

Though 'Our Art' was originally inspired by Channel 4’s ‘Big Art’, it was an very different project due to its cross-media
nature and the continuous media output it generated, from local events, newspaper articles, and off course the output
on DR’s platforms.

‘Our Art’ started as a cross-media project and a question, but became a movement that engaged people all over Denmark.
